Each semester will focus on one specific text, and the reading will be broken into four manageable portions. Everyone is welcome to participate. Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance

Scientific evidence demonstrates that true achievement nearly always stems from hard work under the right conditions. Over a decade of intensive psychological research, Dr. Angela Duckworth found that grit (passion + perseverance) is the strongest predictor of achievement and the most effective approach to problem-solving--more than intelligence, talent, or other personality traits. The most successful people tend to have this growth mindset, where passion and perseverance can be learned because effort is the progressing factor.
Join our discussion as we cultivate sustained commitment to specific long-term goals (passion) + the ability to work tirelessly towards those goals and bounce back from failure (perseverance) + how to nurture grit in and build a culture of grit for others!

9/2 = Part I: What Grit Is and Why It Matters
10/7 = Part II: Growing Grit From the Inside Out (how to develop it yourself)
11/18 = Part III: Growing Grit From the Outside In (how to teach it to others)
12/9 = A "deliberate practice," looking forward to the new year + reflection on research since publishing
