AMP Reads - Grit: Part II
Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Reading Group
Each semester will focus on one specific text, and the reading will be broken into four manageable portions. Everyone is welcome to participate. Reading groups will be capped at a certain number of participants to better facilitate discussion, so it is possible that there will be multiple zoom reading discussions running at once. Each reading session is typically worth 1 point (unless stated otherwise below).

Scientific evidence demonstrates that true achievement nearly always stems from hard work under the right conditions. Over a decade of intensive psychological research, Dr. Angela Duckworth found that grit (passion + perseverance) is the strongest predictor of achievement and the most effective approach to problem-solving--more than intelligence, talent, or other personality traits. The most successful people tend to have this growth mindset, where passion and perseverance can be learned because effort is the progressing factor. 9/2 = Part I: What Grit Is and Why It Matters Zoom Link: https://mtsu.zoom.us/j/2350843847?pwd=Fa8UtrMz3OIHnxCmjXStxq94D0g6kE.1 |
