BAS S315 is a 36-seat computer classroom that is often reported to be too warm to use by instructors. Upgrading technology to newer, more efficient models will make the room more usable and desirable for professors and students. We request upgraded technology (1 standard 86” display screen or 1 110" projector/screen, lectern, AV switcher/control processor, control system touch panel, recording system, auto tracking camera for instructor, ceiling mounted microphone, assisted listening system, USB-C laptop interface, touch monitor for lectern, and wireless AV) and a door lock managed by the key shop to replace the Learn Lock. If possible, I would like to upgrade all of our departmental rooms to have the key shop controlled locks instead of Learn Lock access. During the summer, every Learn Lock programming key I had spontaneously demagnetized and I had to get a new book of programming keys. I learned the technology is ten years out of production; if the keys demagnetize again and the key shop runs out of back up programming key, we will no longer be able to grant access to rooms. This poses an emergency situation waiting to happen- I would rather be proactive than reactive.
