The Department of Health and Human Performance, within the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences, is a large and diverse department, serving 2,080 students in the 23-24 academic year. Programs of study within Health and Human Performance include Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, Public Health, Physical Education, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Leisure and Sport Management. Additionally, we served students across all levels with offerings ranging from True Blue Core courses to a PhD programs. The department is housed in two of the oldest buildings on campus: Alumni Memorial Gym (AMG) and Murphy Center (MC). Providing high quality instruction using up to date instructional methods and state of the art equipment is challenging in these physical spaces. Increasing this challenge is the fact that several of these programs require equipment that is expensive, and goes out of date quickly, and becomes worn with frequent use in order to function at a basic level.
