This proposal seeks funding to support a vital modernization of AMG 210, a classroom serving multiple undergraduate and graduate classes for programs within the Department of Health and Human Performance (HLTH 3300, HLTH 3260, HLTH 6200, PHED 1120, PHED 3300, PHED 4910, EXSC 3830, EXSC 4260, CDIS 3050, CDIS 3150, CDIS 4850, ATHT 4820). Currently, the room is in dire need of renovation, particularly an upgrade to its classroom technology. This project will significantly enhance the learning environment for students across multiple disciplines in Health and Human Performance and, crucially, prepare the space for the anticipated growth of the Athletic Training program, which recently transitioned to a Master of Science degree. The renovation will encompass a complete refresh of the classroom. This includes upgrading the master classroom equipment and the instructor's station with necessary electrical and data enhancements, as well as general electrical and plumbing improvements throughout the room. The worn flooring in the lecture area will be replaced, and the walls will be freshly painted. New, flexible student furniture (chairs and tables) will be installed to facilitate collaborative learning, along with new whiteboards, a lectern, and an instructor's stool. Finally, a new code-compliant entrance door with a proxy card reader will enhance safety and accessibility.
