Todd 204 is a vital instructional space for the College of Liberal Arts, the Department of Art and Design, and the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Every semester, CLA departments schedule large class sections in this space, primarily those serving students in the True Blue Core including Art Appreciation (ART 1030), survey courses in Art History (ART 1910 and 1920), Introduction to Sociology (SOC 1010), Cultural Anthropology (ANTH 2010), and World Prehistory (ANTH 2210). Currently, this 100-seat auditorium is hindered by outdated technology including aging projectors that limit effective instruction and student engagement. This proposal seeks to enhance the learning environment by 1) upgrading the projection system to a 98" Viewsonic and 55" LED presentation display that offers improved brightness, contrast, and connectivity, ensuring seamless presentations and multimedia integration, and 2) revitalizing the aesthetics of the space to support the new classroom technology. These improvements will significantly enhance the teaching and learning experience in Todd 204, increase room utilization, and better serve students in CLA and across MTSU.
