Proposal requests funding for two projects in Education Leadership. 1. Update software for the A/V system used by the MTSU Center for Counseling & Psychological Services (CCPS), housed in the Professional Counseling Program. CCPS received 2 TAF grants (2019, 2022) to purchase and maintain access to the SimulationIQ, which is being sunsetting, necessitating a new solution. The Intelligent Video Solutions VALT system (Video, Audio, Learning Tool) has been identified as a suitable replacement. VALT enables CCPS to continue recording and managing audio/video for counseling sessions. Without this system, CCPS cannot operate effectively as a training clinic. In recent years, CCPS has provided counseling services to approximately 375 clients, 80% from the MTSU community (3,750 hours of therapy). CCPS assists in campus crisis interventions. Funds cover five years of access, telehealth licenses used to offer distance counseling services for online students. 2. Purchase of Dedoose, a qualitative analysis software, serves as a qualitative counterpart to SPSS (currently funded through TAF). Dedoose is distinct from NVivo, currently supported as an enterprise software, because it is cloud-based and allows remote students to engage in collaborative research. This allows students access and training to the software, with each course (ALSI 7610 & 7630; ALSS 7610 & 7630; LITS 7330) being redeveloped to integrate Dedoose for the 70-80 students enrolled annually and 20 students continuing with the software during dissertation. Current cost is $155 per student, totaling $15,540. The 100-user enterprise option costs $10,200, saving $5,000. Usage is based on active users. This continues subscription.
