The Walker Library serves as a vital educational resource and central hub for MTSU. In Calendar Year 2024, the library welcomed approximately 517,000 patrons, with its computer labs logging 119,756 public computer sessions. Throughout 2024, the library checked out 4,059 items to students. Currently, 108 laptops are available for a two-week checkout period. However, demand remains high, as 1,024 laptops were checked out during Fall 2024 alone. To better support students, we seek an additional 15 laptops to expand our inventory. Graphing calculators were also in high demand, with 1,690 checkouts in 2024 and the entire pool in use during the fall exam period. To accommodate student needs, we request 20 additional calculators for checkout. The MakerSpace remains a high-demand resource, with 13,923 logins and 883 reservations for specialized rooms such as the Presentation/Practice Room, Easy Recording Studio, and Podcasting Studio. To support growing interest and innovation, we propose acquiring additional equipment, including resources for a new photogrammetry area. The Technical Services desk completed 1,744 specialized printing jobs, including poster, 3D, and résumé printing. These enhancements will ensure the library continues to meet student needs while supporting academic success and technological advancement.
