I received a DAC accommodation letter, what is my role and expectations?
The largest percent of disability discrimination violations don’t result from the school’s decision, but how they handle the interactive process. Aside from the generic ADA syllabus statement, there is not a lot of information or training on your role in the accommodation process. In this workshop, we will go through the do’s and don’ts of the interactive process. Faculty will gain a better understanding of ways to implement reasonable accommodations and how they can communicate with students. Meanwhile, faculty will understand the legally necessary procedures to follow when there are concerns about an accommodation being feasible.
